NEV Aftermarket Grows Rapidly, Brake Parts Industry Faces Dual Changes in Technology & Market


  After years of rapid expansion, the global new‑energy vehicle industry is gradually shifting from new‑car sales to stock‑vehicle maintenance. The fast‑growing number of NEVs is profoundly reshaping the whole automotive aftermarket. Suppliers supplying full‑range brake parts compatible with both fuel cars and mainstream EVs gain outstanding edges in international bidding. Many overseas repair distributors point out that there is still supply gap for cost‑effective aftermarket brake components for new‑energy vehicles, which creates huge market potential for Chinese exporters.




  Nevertheless, the industry is confronted with practical difficulties. NEV platforms update rapidly, and chassis parameters vary greatly among different brands, resulting in numerous brake‑part variants. It demands strong part‑number database and OE‑part matching capability. Many small‑and‑medium manufacturers still adopt production standards for fuel‑vehicle spare parts. Their products may suffer accelerated wear and abnormal noise under EV operating conditions, damaging the reputation of Chinese auto parts in global markets.



  Industry researchers forecast that large quantities of early‑generation new‑energy passenger cars will enter mass‑maintenance cycles within the next three to five years, which will trigger surging replacement demand for brake wear parts. For Chinese export‑oriented brake‑part manufacturers, simple duplication of existing components is no longer sufficient. To seize aftermarket opportunities, enterprises shall improve material technology, expand EV‑oriented product portfolios and complete testing & certification systems. In fierce global competition, quality assurance and multi‑model compatibility will serve as core strengths for domestic brake‑parts companies exploring overseas markets.
